Adequate space and hidey-hole in a cage are a must; the larger the cage the better!

You should clean the cage out with a special disinfectant every few days, and replace the old pine shavings.

A living room, bedroom, or any other room where people are around for most of the day is a perfect place for a cage.

Guinea pigs need a constant supply of clean, fresh water from a chew-proof bottle.

Foodwise, grass hay should be available to them 24/7.

They need to be fed fresh vegetables every day too.

Fresh carrots, tomatoes, and pod peas are best.

Good quality guinea pig pellets, high in fiber and Vitamin C, should be your pet’s stable food.

Your guinea pig should be given some time to run around out of its cage every day.

A plastic ball he fits into is excellent. Not only is playtime fun, but it will also keep your pet fit, active, and healthy!

Make sure your guinea pig has lots of toys to keep it entertained in its cages, such as gnaw rings, other chew toys, or even empty toilet roll tubes.
